Swedish Massage: Swedish massage is the most commonly offered and best known type of massage. It was developed by a Swedish physiologist, Henri Peter Ling at the University of Stockholm in 1812. It uses a firm but gentle pressure to improve the circulation, ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation.
The therapist generally uses massage oil to facilitate making long, smooth strokes over the body. Swedish massage is done with the person covered by a sheet, a technique called "draping". One part of the body uncovered, massaged, and then covered up before moving on to another part of the body.

Trigger Point Massage:
Myofascial trigger points represent a major cause of sustained pain and dysfunction. Extensive research and practice shows that all chronic pain conditions produce trigger points.

Myofascial Release (MFR):
Myofascial Release is a highly specialized stretching technique used by physical therapists to treat patients with a variety of soft tissue problems.

Shiatsu:
Shiatsu, also known as acupressure, is a finger pressure massage technique. that is sometimes confused with acupuncture. Shiatsu massage therapy and acupuncture are founded on the Chinese meridian system. The therapist applies pressure with his thumbs, finger, and palms to specific areas of the client's body that have been determined during an assessment period prior to the massage session. There are no needle pokes involved with Shiatsu. Massage techniques like tapping, squeezing, rubbing, and applied pressure are applied along the meridians to unblock energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of ki.

And Chair Massage:
On-site Chair Massage is a short, seated massage which:

1. Comes to you. (e.g. Conventions; Workplace; Hospitality Suites; Grand Openings)
2. Is given by professional Licensed and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Body workers.
3. Usually lasts from 5 to 30 minutes, no oils or lotions are used, and takes place while attendees are fully clothed.
4. Usually covers such areas as the head, neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands and/or feet. It also, can be adapted to special needs.
5. Helps remove tension and stress leaving clients relaxed
and refreshed.

A portable massage chair, designed for comfort and support and can be adjusted quickly to fit almost any size body, is used. Each chair is manned by one massage therapist and the chair can be set up and dismantled quickly in almost any location.

Disposable face cradle covers are used for each massage and the massage therapists use disinfectant wipes for their chair and instant hand sanitizers before and after giving each massage.

Sports Massage:
Sports massage is a special form of massage developed to help athletes reach and maintain peak performance and to assist in recovery afterwards facilitating the healing processes as well as helping prevent future injures. Although the notion 'sports massage therapy' suggests that it is only suitable for athletes and dancers, a great number of qualified sports massage therapists dispel this myth and prove that it is also a therapy for 'ordinary' people, who are not making a sports career.

Sports massage therapy is not only a post-trauma treatment, it can be used preventative to keep the soft tissue in a healthy state and eliminate any micro-traumas before they become more serious. It is also able to get rid of post-operative scar tissue and release incorrect postural holding patterns due to increased muscle tension. Thus sports massage therapy covers three main categories: event (pre and post), maintenance, and rehabilitation.
Pre-event sports massage therapy warms up the muscles - getting the blood circulate faster and allowing longer workout with reduced risk of injury, increased flexibility and greater range of motion. Pre-event massage therapy can also help avoid muscle and tendon injuries and enhance the performance results.

To quicken the removal of fatigue toxins, relieve muscle spasms, prevent soreness and to jumpstart the process of removing lactic acid build up in muscles occurs is the prerogative of post-event sports massage therapy used to assist athletes in recovery and in regaining their pre-event condition.

Maintenance or rehabilitation sports massage therapy increases flexibility and range of motion, reducing muscle scar tissue formation, muscle soreness, stiffness, cramps and pain. Maintenance sports massage recharges and revitalizes the body and reduces the risk of injury.
It is proved that sports massage therapy relieves the pain of muscular strain and injury; reduces fatigue, stress and tension; improves circulation and eases stress; helps make for a sound sleep; enhances sports performance and recovery; increases health and well-being; rehabilitates muscular injury; reduces chronic pain; calms the nervous system; strengthens the immune system and so on and so forth. The list of sports massage therapy benefits is endless.

These benefits are not only for athletes, but for anyone who at least occasionally does some sports. Carried out by professionals sports massage therapy is a unique way of preserving good health.

What is used during the massage?
Generally with most massages there is either the massage table or a massage chair.
*Massage tables are used mostly for longer massages over 30 minutes.
*The chair is used for a quick massage anywhere from 5 minutes to 25 minutes.
*Oils, creams, gels, and lotions may also be used at your discretion. However with most Swedish Massages if the client (which would be you) would be undressed to their comfort level and underneath a sheet and blanket, and to fully access and release tension the lubricant may be necessary.
*At ALL times when on a massage table you will be covered and well draped by a sheet and a blanket if you are cold. The only areas of the body that will be exposed will be the areas of concern that you specify that you want me to work on or if it is just a full body massage only the areas being worked on at that time will be exposed.
*Music maybe played in the background to help you relax and fall into a sense of deeper relaxation, if I am coming to your place of residence i may bring some music or ask if you have any that you seem to relax more around.
